How it works
Native PDF text and spreadsheet readers keep page and cell locations. Document AI reads scanned pages and images. Unreadable pages produce an error or an unclear result.
What you get
Stored source blocks: the text, document version and page region or cell reference.
Seen in the completed testsThe public tests read IOM BOQ pages 9 and 13 and one-page supplier excerpts using native PDF text.
Original PDF page 21, printed pages 35–36. Uploaded as a one-page excerpt, so the workspace records this as uploaded page 1. No other catalogue pages or technical sheets were submitted.

Choose tiles, paint and coatings, doors and windows, roofing, cement and concrete, reinforcement steel, plumbing, electrical materials or another building material. Set the properties your project requires and select the exact supplier product. Checks depend on the evidence in your documents; each material has its own requirements.
Which files can I upload?
PDF, JPEG, PNG, WebP, HEIC, XLSX and CSV. Each file can be up to 25 MB. You can select PDF pages or spreadsheet ranges before processing.
What does the AI actually do?
Google Gemini reads your uploaded documents to extract project requirements and supplier statements, identify product variants and interpret wording. Document AI reads scanned pages and images. Comparison rules check sizes, finishes and compatible values. You review the sources and record the decision.
Can I use my own documents?
Yes. Start a review, create a project and material item, then upload your requirements and supplier files. The public sample is a separate example; your review is processed from the files you upload.
How do I contact the supplier?
Create a clarification draft from the findings, edit it and save it with the review. Copy or download it to send through your email or messaging app. You can reopen a saved draft and edit a copy.
Can I download the result?
After the reviewer records a decision, generate a PDF report or CSV export. Both keep the findings, sources and decision for those document versions. The saved report remains available after a later submission revision.
Does a match mean the material is suitable for the site?
A match means the submitted documents support the approved requirement. Your reviewer remains responsible for suitability, the physical sample and checking the authenticity of certificates.
Can I change a finding?
The assigned reviewer can record a correction with a reason. The original machine finding stays in the history, and both appear in the report.
What happens when a supplier changes the product?
Create a new submission revision, select the revised product and compare again. Earlier decisions remain attached to the versions that were reviewed.
Who can approve a material?
Only the assigned project reviewer can record the final decision. An unconditional approval is blocked while required findings remain unresolved.
What if a document cannot be read?
The app shows an actionable processing error. Upload a clearer copy or select a smaller scope. It does not treat an unreadable file as missing evidence or a completed review.
